In the present age, among all the changes that human society is passing through, the most prominent and impactful change is that new wave of political awareness which has taken the youth generation under its sway. In the past, politics was considered the inheritance of certain families, experienced elders, or traditional power circles, where decisions were based on the standards of decades-old loyalties. But today's digital revolution has shaken the very foundations of this old structure. Now politics has moved out of drawing rooms and rally grounds and shifted onto the screens of smartphones, where the trends of Twitter and the videos of TikTok are playing a decisive role in shaping public narrative. The question that arises is whether this is merely an emotional excitement, or does the digital political awareness of the new generation truly possess the strength to lead the country towards some great change?
A More Active Yet More Complex Awareness
The political awareness of the new generation, when compared with the past few decades, is far more active but also surrounded by a more complex situation. At present, the youth have such a flood of information available to them that keeps them informed every moment about the changing colours of national and global politics.

This process has given a new lustre to populism in politics, where an ordinary citizen has begun to feel himself an active part of the political process. However, along with this digital awakening, there are also certain challenges attached that blur the very direction of this entire process.

The greatest tragedy of digital politics is that here the line between facts and propaganda has become extremely thin. Where social media has given a voice to the youth, it has also made them prisoners of specific narratives through the algorithm.
It has often been observed that the new generation, falling under the spell of emotional slogans and short videos, ignores the depth of political issues. Politics is not merely a "trend"; rather, it is the name of a long, scholarly, and patience-testing process. But the speed of the digital world has created such a restlessness in the youth for instantly achieving results that sometimes appears in the form of intolerance and extremism.
If this political awareness remains devoid of scholarly research and historical study, then the danger will always exist that self-interested forces may turn it into a tool for their own purposes.
The Future of the Country and Digital Politics
If we analyse this situation in the context of the country's future, it becomes clear that digital politics has compelled traditional political parties to set their direction right. Now politics is no longer settled merely in drawing rooms; rather, it has become indispensable for them to make their place in the field of social media.
If this political interest of the new generation is turned in a constructive direction, it can give birth to a kind of leadership which is accountable and whose foundation rests upon performance.
If the awareness of the youth does not remain limited only to screens, but practically becomes a part of the electoral process, then it possesses the ability to change the worn-out political system of the country from its very roots. The process of change is only completed when the digital voice reaches the ballot box and takes the form of a new system.
A Great Battle Between the Old and the New
In the end, it would not be inappropriate to say that we are in such a transitional period where a great battle is being waged between the old and the new. The mobile phone in the hands of the new generation is not merely a tool of communication — it has become a political weapon.
The correct use of this weapon can lead the country towards prosperity and a true democracy, while its wrong use can prove to be the harbinger of social decay and intellectual confusion. The future belongs to those nations who succeed in joining the energy of their new generation with knowledge and wisdom.
We must understand that digital politics is only a beginning. The real destination is that political stability where decisions are made on the basis of awareness rather than emotion, and where the new generation becomes capable of writing the destiny of its country with its own hands. If we succeed in giving the right direction to this energy, then surely digital politics will emerge as the guarantor of the country's bright future.
عصرِ حاضر میں انسانی معاشرت جن تبدیلیوں سے گزر رہی ہے، ان میں سب سے زیادہ نمایاں اور اثر انگیز تبدیلی سیاسی شعور کی وہ نئی لہر ہے جس نے نوجوان نسل کو اپنی لپیٹ میں لے رکھا ہے۔ ماضی میں سیاست کو مخصوص فیملیز، تجربہ کار بزرگوں یا روایتی ڈیروں کی میراث سمجھا جاتا تھا، جہاں فیصلوں کی بنیاد برسوں پرانے وفاداریوں کے پیمانوں پر ہوتی تھی؛ لیکن آج کے ڈیجیٹل انقلاب نے اس قدیم ڈھانچے کی چولیں ہلا کر رکھ دی ہیں۔ اب سیاست ڈرائنگ رومز اور جلسہ گاہوں سے نکل کر اسمارٹ فونز کی اسکرینوں پر منتقل ہو چکی ہے، جہاں ٹویٹر کے ٹرینڈز اور ٹک ٹاک کی ویڈیوز عوامی بیانیے کی تشکیل میں فیصلہ کن کردار ادا کر رہی ہیں۔ سوال یہ پیدا ہوتا ہے کہ کیا یہ محض ایک جذباتی ابال ہے یا واقعی نئی نسل کا یہ ڈیجیٹل سیاسی شعور ملک کے مستقبل کو کسی بڑی تبدیلی کی طرف لے جانے کی سکت رکھتا ہے؟
نئی نسل کا سیاسی شعور پچھلی دہائیوں کے مقابلے میں کہیں زیادہ متحرک مگر پیچیدہ صورتحال کا حامل ہے۔ اس وقت نوجوانوں کے پاس معلومات کا ایک ایسا سیلاب موجود ہے جو انہیں ہر لمحہ عالمی اور ملکی سیاست کے پل پل بدلتے رنگوں سے باخبر رکھتا ہے۔ اب کوئی بھی سیاسی جماعت اپنی کارکردگی کو چھپا نہیں سکتی اور نہ ہی ماضی کے تضادات کو مٹانا ممکن رہا ہے۔ ڈیجیٹل پلیٹ فارمز نے عام نوجوان کو یہ طاقت دے دی ہے کہ وہ ایوانوں میں بیٹھے طاقتور ترین افراد سے براہِ راست سوال کر سکے اور اپنی رائے کو لاکھوں لوگوں تک پہنچا سکے۔ اس عمل نے سیاست میں "عوامیت" (Populism) کو ایک نئی جِلا بخشی ہے، جہاں ایک عام شہری خود کو سیاسی عمل کا ایک فعال حصہ محسوس کرنے لگا ہے۔ تاہم، اس ڈیجیٹل بیداری کے ساتھ ساتھ کچھ ایسے چیلنجز بھی جُڑے ہوئے ہیں جو اس پورے عمل کی سمت کو دُھندلا دیتے ہیں۔
ڈیجیٹل سیاست کا سب سے بڑا المیہ یہ ہے کہ یہاں حقائق اور پروپیگنڈے کے درمیان لکیر بہت باریک ہو چکی ہے۔ جہاں سوشل میڈیا نے نوجوانوں کو آواز دی ہے، وہیں اسے "الگورتھم" کے ذریعے مخصوص بیانیوں کا قیدی بھی بنا دیا گیا ہے۔ اکثر دیکھا گیا ہے کہ نئی نسل جذباتی نعروں اور مختصر ویڈیوز کے سحر میں آ کر سیاسی مسائل کی گہرائی کو نظر انداز کر دیتی ہے۔ سیاست محض ایک "ٹرینڈ" نہیں بلکہ ایک طویل علمی اور صبر آزما عمل کا نام ہے؛ لیکن ڈیجیٹل دنیا کی تیزی نے نوجوانوں میں فوری نتائج حاصل کرنے کی ایک ایسی بے چینی پیدا کر دی ہے جو کبھی کبھی عدم برداشت اور شدت پسندی کی صورت میں سامنے آتی ہے۔ اگر یہ سیاسی شعور علمی ریسرچ اور تاریخی مطالعے سے عاری رہے گا، تو اس بات کا خدشہ ہمیشہ موجود رہے گا کہ اسے مفاد پرست قوّتیں اپنے مقاصد کے لیے آلہ کار بنا لیں۔
ملک کے مستقبل کے حوالے سے اگر ہم اس صورتحال کا تجزیہ کریں، تو یہ بات واضح ہوتی ہے کہ ڈیجیٹل سیاست نے روایتی سیاسی جماعتوں کو اپنا قبلہ درست کرنے پر مجبور کر دیا ہے۔ اب سیاست صرف ڈرائنگ رومز میں طے نہیں پاتی بلکہ اس کے لیے سوشل میڈیا کے میدان میں اپنی جگہ بنانا ناگزیر ہو چکا ہے۔ نئی نسل کی یہ سیاسی دلچسپی اگر تعمیری سمت میں موڑی جائے، تو یہ ایک ایسی قیادت کو جنم دے سکتی ہے جو جوابدہ ہو اور جس کی بنیاد کارکردگی پر ہو۔ نوجوانوں کا یہ شعور اگر محض اسکرینوں تک محدود نہ رہے اور عملی طور پر انتخابی عمل کا حصہ بنے، تو یہ ملک کے فرسودہ سیاسی نظام کو جڑ سے بدلنے کی صلاحیت رکھتا ہے۔ تبدیلی کا عمل تبھی مکمل ہوتا ہے جب ڈیجیٹل آواز بیلٹ باکس تک پہنچتی ہے اور ایک نئے سسٹم کی صورت اختیار کرتی ہے۔
آخر میں یہ کہنا بے جا نہ ہوگا کہ ہم ایک ایسے دورِ عبور میں ہیں جہاں قدیم اور جدید کے درمیان ایک عظیم معرکہ برپا ہے۔ نئی نسل کے ہاتھوں میں موجود موبائل فون محض ایک مواصلاتی آلہ نہیں بلکہ ایک سیاسی ہتھیار بن چکا ہے۔ اس ہتھیار کا درست استعمال ملک کو خوشحالی اور حقیقی جمہوریت کی طرف لے جا سکتا ہے، جبکہ اس کا غلط استعمال معاشرتی بگاڑ اور فکری انتشار کا پیش خیمہ ثابت ہو سکتا ہے۔ مستقبل ان ہی قوموں کا ہے جو اپنی نئی نسل کی اس توانائی کو علم اور دانش کے ساتھ جوڑنے میں کامیاب ہوں گی۔ ہمیں یہ سمجھنا ہوگا کہ ڈیجیٹل سیاست صرف ایک شروعات ہے، اصل منزل وہ سیاسی استحکام ہے جہاں فیصلے جذبات کے بجائے شعور کی بنیاد پر ہوں اور جہاں نئی نسل اپنے ملک کی تقدیر اپنے ہاتھوں سے لکھنے کے قابل ہو سکے۔ اگر ہم اس توانائی کو صحیح رخ دینے میں کامیاب ہو گئے، تو یقیناً ڈیجیٹل سیاست ملک کے روشن مستقبل کی ضامن بن کر ابھرے گی۔
